Central America is going through a profound process of transnationalization of its economy involving the increased penetration of transnational companies (TNCs) in Central America, but also the transnationalization of several Central American companies.

This project aims to challenge this view by studying the formation of new forms of governance and the transformation of state-private relations through the negotiation and implementation of free trade agreements (FTAs). Post.Doc

The aim of the project is to analyze the consequences of the increased involvement of private actors in multilateral organizations. By 'private actors' we mean for-profit organizations, including corporations, business organizations and private foundations that are closely associated with them. 'Multilateral organizations' refers here to United Nations organizations and the World Bank.
