Seye Abimbola
Dr Seye Abimbola is a health systems researcher. He has worked as a health care practitioner and/or researcher in Nigeria where he completed his medical training at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; in Australia where completed an MPhil in Public Health and PhD in health systems research at the University of Sydney, and in the United Kingdom where he is currently a visiting research fellow at the University of Oxford.
From 2009-10, Dr Abimbola was a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar at the George Institute for Global Health in Australia, and from 2010-13 he was a research fellow at the National Primary Health Care Development Agency in Nigeria. Dr Abimbola studies the role of governance in the adoption and scale up of health system innovations; and he is currently a lecturer in global health at the University of Sydney, and the editor in chief of BMJ Global Health.
Tammy Boyce
Dr Tammy Boyce is Project Manager of the Footprint Initiative, examining the economic and social impacts of health systems at WHO European Office for Investment for Health & Development. She has over 15 years experience in research and policy concerning health inequalities, public health, participation, vaccination, sustainability and communication.
Tammy is a co-author of Fair Society, Healthy Lives, the England review of health inequalities led by Michael Marmot. She's worked with the health policy think tank the King's Fund, Cardiff University's School of Journalism as well as charities, universities and private companies.
Ilona Kickbusch
Professor Ilona Kickbusch is the Director of the Global Health Programme at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. She is co-chair of the Steering Committee of the UHC2030, a multi-stakeholder platform that promotes collaborative working at global and country levels on health systems strengthening and advocates for UHC. Ilona Kickbusch also advises organisations, government agencies and the private sector on policies and strategies to promote health at the national, European and international level.
Her key areas of interest are global health governance, global health diplomacy, health in all policies, the health society and health literacy.
Salima Namusobya
Salima Namusobya is the Executive Director of the Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER) and an expert member of the Working Group on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. She is a lawyer and human rights advocate who has specialized in international human rights law and forced migration.
Previously, she worked in various capacities with the Refugee Law Project (RLP), School of Law, Makerere University and also served as the Eastern Africa Coordinator for International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) - an online project of the Amsterdam Center for International Law and the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, published by Oxford University Press. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of Columbia in New York, participating in the Human Rights Advocates Program, and also completed courses on litigating social and economic rights from the Harvard School of Public Health and the Institute for Human Rights at the Abo Akademi in Turku, Finland.
She is also a co-author for the textbook on ‘Civil Procedure and Practice in Uganda’. She serves on the Boards of several NGOs including the Legal Aid Service Providers' Network in Uganda (LASPNET), Centre for Public Interest Law (CEPIL), International Refugee Rights Initiative (IRRI), and the Governance and Public Policy Research Centre (GPRC). She is a member of the Uganda Law Society, the East Africa Law Society and the Federation of Women Lawyers in Uganda.
