While the74th World Assembly concluded with an agreement on the amendments for the International Health Regulations (IHR), the parallel negotiations for the Pandemic Treaty stalled and only a timeline was agreed. What are the lessons of these outcomes of protracted negotiations, running in parallel for over two years to bolster multilateral responses and readiness to pandemics? What were the power structures and dynamics that drove the negotiations and outcomes? What explains the outcomes and the struggles over provisions for equity that were central to these negotiations?

In this session, Sakiko Fukuda-Parr leads a conversation with Priti Patnaik and Suerie Moon, both of whom have been following the negotiations on the ground since their inception.

The event will take place online on 11th July at 17:00 CEST // 11:00 EST
