Øyvind Sundet holds a master's degree in Development, Environment, and Cultural Change from the University of Oslo and a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from OsloMet. His master's thesis focused on experiences and challenges among households that wanted to reduce their meat consumption. Øyvind has been employed as a researcher and project manager at SUM since he submitted his master's thesis in 2021, and has been involved in projects such as MEATigation on meat consumption and Flexeffect about flexibility electricity usage.
As a PhD candidate at SUM, Øyvind will research how sustainable change is understood across the social and natural sciences and how and whether these understandings impact climate policy in the Norwegian context. The goal is to shed light on how different beliefs, values, and paradigms frame what knowledge is considered useful and valuable in the transformation to a more sustainable society. The project will also explore if and how alternative frames of understanding can lead to more comprehensive change towards sustainable societies.
Ulrikke Wethal is the main supervisor of the PhD project.
