A collection of essays on Norway by Nina Witoszek, Najlepszy kraj na swiecie (The best country in the world), is due to be published in a book by Czarne, the biggest publishing house in Poland, the 22 November.
Czarne writes about the book: The best country in the world is an analysis of the deep contradictions inherent in the history of Norwegian culture from the nineteenth century to the present - when it emerges in the duel between the so-called patriots and the intelligentsia, now in friction within the Norwegian "regime of goodness." It is also a pamphlet that sheds light on Norwegian talent for reconciling contradiction: between radicalism and conservatism, religiosity and secularism, individualism and communism, utopian ideas and common sense.
