Book review by Alexander Dunlap.

The book is about the the Zone-to-Defend (ZAD, Zones d'Aménagement Différé [deferred development zones] or just Zones à défendre) that was a decades long struggle against a big airport outside Nantes. It was among the most important, intense and long-lasting territorial struggles in Europe.

Having been circulating in these spaces, conversations and living in another ZAD the last decade, this book review was among the most difficult and conflictive I have written to date, which becomes apparent after summarizing the book. For whatever it is worth, this review expresses my position on the death or regularization of the ZAD.
