Institutional Cooperation between the University of Oslo and the University of Dar es Salaam (PITRO) (completed)

The purpose of the project is to foster research and academic cooperation between the two universities and to support the University of Dar es Salaam’s vision of becoming "a reputable world-class university that is responsive to national, regional and global development needs through engagement in dynamic knowledge creation and application".

About the project

Desmond McNeill is the academic director of the overall programme which is a cooperation between various University of Oslo Departments and their counterparts at the University of Dar es Salaam. Harold Wilhite leads one of the six subprojects: “A sustainable energy system for the provision of rural electrification services”. Ingrid Nesheim and Desmond McNeill are both participants in another: “Climate change in Tanzania: adaptation of natural and social systems”.
